"This story was beautifully told and touched me deeply. It will stay with me for a long time." Review of The River Leith by Leta Blake

January 6, 2016 by Leta

“This story was beautifully told and touched me deeply. It will stay with me for a long time. It treated the subject matter with honesty and dignity while still delivering a believable love story. All in all a damn fine read!!”

Memory is everything.

After an injury in the ring, amateur boxer Leith Wenz wakes to discover his most recent memories are three years out of date. Unmoored and struggling to face his new reality, Leith must cope anew with painful revelations about his family. His brother is there to support him, but it’s the unfamiliar face of Zach, a man introduced as his best friend, that provides the calm he craves. Until Zach’s presence begins to stir up feelings Leith can’t explain.

For Zach, being forgotten by his lover is excruciating. He carefully hides the truth from Leith to protect them both from additional pain. His bottled-up turmoil finds release through vlogging, where he confesses his fears and grief to the faceless Internet. But after Leith begins to open up to him, Zach’s choices may come back to haunt him.

Ultimately, Leith must ask his heart the questions memory can no longer answer.

5 Shiny Holiday Stars to If Only In My Dreams by Keira Andrews! Yay Gay Christmas Romance! #amreading

December 15, 2015 by Leta

If Only in My DreamsIf Only in My Dreams by Keira Andrews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truly one of my favorite holiday reads ever, I think. So friggin’ cute with a nice dollop of angst. New adult holiday romance with mixed faiths and all the best tropes: hate-to-love, road trip, “snowed in”, and reunited exes (kinda). Cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for the perfect holiday gay romance! <3

“These authors made magic with this story.” Review of Vespertine by Leta Blake & Indra Vaughn

December 14, 2015 by Leta

“This book had me reeling basically from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down. The tension and true love between these men left me hurting and yearning for them. There pain and hurt but also peace and hope and love. I just loved this book so much. Like I said these authors made magic with this story. It’s an absolute must read!”

December 11, 2015 by Leta

unnamed-3

I’m so honored and excited to announce that the Training Complex, the critically acclaimed sequel to fan favorite Training Season, was a runner-up for Best Erotic Romance in the 2015 Rainbow Awards hosted by the amazing Elisa Rolle.

This judged annual awards competition not only help to promote LGBT books across all genres, but help to raise funds for LGBT charitable organizations. In 2015 the Rainbow Awards raised over $17,000, going to a variety of LGBT charities worldwide. I couldn’t be prouder to be associated with these awards and to have had Training Complex do so well overall.

Thank you, Elisa and judges, for your efforts in the LGBT literary community!

Leta Blake is a story goddess!" - 3 Chicks After Dark Reviews "I just can't get enough of Matty and Rob and love them so much." - Jay, Joyfully Jay Reivews "These two love like no others. Leta brings that all consuming, old fashioned, From Here to Eternity feel to the love they have. Of course on a hotness scale it just explodes. SO HOT!" - Diverse Reader Reviews "This sequel gave me a book hangover of the best kind!" - Rainbow Gold Reviews

Buckle up – Matty’s back!

Figure skater Matty Marcus didn’t capture Olympic gold, but he won rancher Rob Lovely’s heart.

After Rob sold his ranch and Matty hung up his skates, they started a new life together in New York City. Now Matty has taken on a fresh challenge as a figure skating coach, and Rob’s second career as a physical therapist should be everything he’s dreamed of. But in the brutal heat of their third summer in the city, Rob yearns for the wide-open country, and the intensity of city life awakens Matty’s demons.

Matty asks for increasingly intense BDSM scenes, and his disordered eating and erratic behavior ramp up the stakes. Rob struggles to stay in control, and after a well-intentioned anniversary gift goes awry, he still thinks he can handle the fallout. But the concrete jungle is closing in and his coping skills are unraveling.

Their love is deep, but Rob will have to admit the truth about what he really wants before they both tumble into chaos.

“What an emotional journey. I wish I could hug everyone in this book.” Review of The River Leith by Leta Blake #gayromance

December 6, 2015 by Leta

“What an emotional journey. I felt for Zach, Marian, Ava and Arthur. How much do you tell Leith or do you wait for it come back? What would I do if my loved one saw me as a stranger? It’s amazing at how the body retains certain memory even when the cognitive mind doesn’t. I appreciate this author tackling a difficult subject with sensitivity yet conveying the sense of helplessness the characters felt. I could see everyone’s POV and I just had to walk with them with hope and patience.

I wish I could hug everyone in this book.”

“You’ll be amazed how quickly you devour it and are left begging for more!!!” Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 28, 2015 by Leta

“What can I say? I was *immediately* hooked by the debacle of Will and Patrick’s booze-adled shot-gun marriage and the story that ensued. The writing is excellent, well-paced, and I developed an investment in the the characters almost instantaneously. Both Will and Patrick left me enchanted, frustrated, totally smitten…and completely impatient for the next installation!! If any of you are on the fence, get the book. You’ll be amazed how quickly you devour it and are left begging for more!!!”

“So much fun!” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 14, 2015 by Leta

wake-up-married-banner-1

“I am really loving the serialized fiction format. The whole idea of the ongoing romantic comedy episodes are incredibly intriguing. It doesn’t hurt that they are written by one of my favorite authors in this genre. I’ve realized Leta Blake can really do no wrong when she writes a story. It’s also apparent that teaming up with “new to me” author Alice Griffiths is a match made in heaven. This romantic comedy was so much fun to read.”

“An awesome addition to this series!” Review: Will & Patrick Meet the Family by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 13, 2015 by Leta

wake-up-married-banner-2

“This book was such a awesome addition to this series! This is not a stand alone so you need to read the first book in the series before you read this one.
So in this book Patrick gets to meet Will’s family and let me say Will’s mom gives a new meaning to mother-in-law from hell. Patrick is his usually snarky self with everyone which I loved! There is just something about his character that draws me in and has me laughing so hard at the things he says. Then there was poor Will I just want him to honestly get over Ryan and realize what a jerk he is.
The sexual tension between these two was off the charts in this book. So many times I just wanted to yell through the book and tell them to just get it on already because you know they are going to be so hot together when they do. I really do not want to say much more because this book you have really got to read for yourself because it was just so good! I will say these two authors have drawn me into this story of Patrick and Will so much that I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this series to see more of these two characters together and what will happen next.

All together I really loved this book! I would definitely recommend this book!
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.”

Can a priest and a rock star obey love’s call?

Seventeen years ago, Jasper Hendricks and Nicholas Blumfeld’s childhood friendship turned into a secret, blissful love affair. They spent several idyllic months together until Jasper’s calling to the Catholic priesthood became impossible to ignore. Left floundering, Nicky followed his own trajectory into rock stardom, but he never stopped looking back.

Today, Jasper pushes boundaries as an out, gay priest, working hard to help vulnerable LGBTQ youth. He’s determined to bring change to the church and the world. Respected, admired, and settled in his skin, Jasper has long ignored his loneliness.

As Nico Blue, guitarist and songwriter for the band Vespertine, Nicky owns the hearts of millions. He and his bandmates have toured the world, lighting their fans on fire with their music. Numbed by drugs and fueled by simmering anger, Nicky feels completely alone. When Vespertine is forced to get sober, Nicky returns home to where it all started.

Jasper and Nicky’s careers have ruled their lives since they parted as teens. When they come face to face again, they must choose between the past’s lingering ghosts or the promise of a new future.

“5 stars

I was given this book by Inked Rainbow Reads for an honest review.

Book 2 in the Vegas Marriage of Will and Patrick. This book was just as good as book 1. Patrick gets to meet Will’s family. And of course Patrick can’t hold his tongue. Oh my I just love his snarky attitude. And the things he does voice are hilarious.

Once again I enjoyed this book very much. Definitely need to read these books in order. Looking forward to reading more about Will and Patrick.”

“What could be more entertaining then two drunk guys getting married in Vegas? Nothing!!” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 8, 2015 by Leta

“Well what could be more entertaining then two drunk guys getting married in Vegas, nothing!! This book is great, it starts out and the writing is so good it just captured my interest immediately.

Will and Patrick couldn’t be more different but as as couple they are fantastic. Patrick is a jerk, a very smart one and knows it. But that is what makes him a lovable character. Will, I kind of felt sorry for, he’s hung up on his ex boyfriend.

I loved how Patrick knew how to push Wills buttons and really irritate him. I’m looking forward to the next book just to find out what happens in this crazy story.”

“Fast paced and very entertaining, the first Episode of Will & Patrick has left me wanting more.” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 3, 2015 by Leta

wake-up-married-banner-1

“I thought this was a really good start to the serial. Both men are clearly attracted to each other and have the same ultimate goal, but they have such polar opposite outlooks on life and how to go about things, that I can’t wait to see them navigate what’s coming. If they don’t physically kill each other first the underlying sexual tension just might do the trick! We don’t get to see them in bed, but the few memories we’re treated to and hints of some shared kinks are enough of a promise to keep me going.

Fast paced and very entertaining, the first Episode of Will & Patrick has left me wanting more. Next up, Will has to take Patrick to face the wrath of his mother.

“This book had me laughing to the point I had tears in my eyes.” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

“OMG this book was so good!
Okay Patrick and Will meet each other one night while both of them are drunk in Vegas. Well one thing leads to another and they wake up in the morning married and sore due to the massive amounts of sex they had. Can I just say I loved Patrick’s character so much. He was just so snarky, so many times the things he would say in this book had me laughing to the point I had tears in my eyes.
So due to reasons that are beyond Will’s control they have to stay married until they can figure a way out of their marriage. So many things happen in this book that I was either laughing or feeling sad for Will because of what Ryan does to him. I loved the way the authors wrote these characters and the whole pretense of this story. So I don’t want to give away any spoilers because this book you have got to read for yourself, it was just so good! I can not wait to read the next one to see what these two characters Patrick and Will are up to next.
So all together I loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.”

“I was hooked by the debacle of Will and Patrick’s booze-adled shot-gun marriage.” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

“The story was well written, the characters were real from page one, and it had everything a good romance should offer.” Review of Smoky Mountain Dreams #gay

October 19, 2015 by Leta

“This is my first time reading this authors work but I loved this book! The story was well written, the characters were real from page one, and it had everything a good romance should offer. I couldn’t put it down. I laughed and I cried but in the ends I was cheering for Jesse and Christopher. I only hope that the story continues with Gareth’s story.”

Sometimes holding on means letting go Christopher Ryder and Jesse Birch are two men hanging on to the past. While Christopher has let go of his failure as a country singer in Nashville, he's still trying to please his narrow-minded, non-accepting family. His beloved Gran loves him the way he is, but Christopher feels painfully invisible to everyone else. He’s happy enough performing at the Smoky Mountain Dreams theme park in Tennessee, but even when Christopher is center stage he aches for someone to see the real him. There's more than meets the eye when it comes to bisexual Jesse. He's raising two kids and fighting with family after a tragic accident took his children’s mother. There's no room in his life for dating, his kids are his priority, and he doesn't want more than an occasional hook-up. He sure as hell doesn't want to fall hard for his favorite local singer, but when Christopher walks into his jewelry studio, Jesse hears a new song in his heart.

“Beautiful writing; wonderful, flawed characters; off the charts UST and enough uncertainty to keep me utterly gripped.” | Jay Northcote’s review of Vespertine by Leta Blake & Indra Vaughn

October 12, 2015 by Leta

“I’ll be honest here… they had me at priest in the blurb, because forbidden/repressed love is a trope I adore. I’m happy to report that the authors delivered in spades. I absolutely loved this story. Beautiful writing; wonderful, flawed characters; off the charts UST and enough uncertainty to keep me utterly gripped. I’m not going to lie, this is an angsty read. People who know me, know that I don’t often choose angst-heavy books. And yes there is a lot of pain in this book, and it made my heart hurt as I followed Jazz and Nicky’s story and learned how past mistakes had landed them where they are at the start of the book. But there is also hope laced in every page right from the beginning. I *knew* they’d get to their happy ending, I trusted and I longed for it and it was so completely worth the ride. Gorgeous, gorgeous book. Definitely one of my favourite reads this year.”

“I plan on rereading immediately. I’d give it more stars if I could.” Review: Vespertine by Leta Blake & Indra Vaughn #gayromance

September 26, 2015 by Leta

“Not gonna lie, I’m pretty much obsessed with everything Leta Blake writes (and I’m also a huge fan of Indra Vaughn’s Shadow Mountain series), so obviously I was chomping at the bit for this book to be released. It would be impossible for me to pick my favorite Leta Blake book, but this one was special. Nicky and Jazz are beautiful together – but their connection feels less based on attraction and more based on the kind of bone deep love that you can only feel about someone who came into your life and saved you. Nicky and Jazz saved each other when they were little, and I loved watching them do it all over again the second time around. I’ll be honest, individually, I didn’t feel a personal connection to either man. It was hard for me (and I’m Roman Catholic) to understand Jazz’s devotion to his faith and Nicky’s lot in life and the choices he made broke my heart. But together, these two men are beautiful. Their interactions are genuine and their affection for each other was palpable. I love the way Nicky shook up Jazz’s life – with his humor and irreverent nature. I love the way Jazz made Nicky want to become the best possible version of himself. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I appreciated that the flashbacks were minimal and mostly told through reminiscing. This allowed the story to flow smoothly. As I was reading, I felt like I was witnessing Jazz waking up from a long slumber. He was an unreliable narrator in the beginning, and I liked that as he spent more time with Nicky and remembered his youth with greater clarity, he began to reevaluate his life. There are some scenes in this book that plain ripped out my heart and others that made me smile like a little kid. I plan on rereading immediately. I’d give it more stars if I could.”
