"Elegant story-telling. I couldn't put this one down." Review of The River Leith by Leta Blake

May 6, 2016 by Leta

“Elegant story-telling. I couldn’t put this one down. As would be expected with a story about a man with amnesia, there’s a lot of introspection and revisits to the past, yet it never once felt like the story had stagnated. In fact, the pace was so right, measured. Loved every word.”

Memory is everything.

After an injury in the ring, amateur boxer Leith Wenz wakes to discover his most recent memories are three years out of date. Unmoored and struggling to face his new reality, Leith must cope anew with painful revelations about his family. His brother is there to support him, but it’s the unfamiliar face of Zach, a man introduced as his best friend, that provides the calm he craves. Until Zach’s presence begins to stir up feelings Leith can’t explain.

For Zach, being forgotten by his lover is excruciating. He carefully hides the truth from Leith to protect them both from additional pain. His bottled-up turmoil finds release through vlogging, where he confesses his fears and grief to the faceless Internet. But after Leith begins to open up to him, Zach’s choices may come back to haunt him.

Ultimately, Leith must ask his heart the questions memory can no longer answer.

"Wow, I do love this author's amazing writing style and story lines!" Review: The River Leith by Leta Blake

April 6, 2016 by Leta

“Wow, I do love this author’s amazing writing style and story lines! This was a very enjoyable read, it may be heartbreaking at times but there is plenty of humour between the characters and some great sub characters that make this a excellent read. I was wishing throughout for Leith to get his memory back and everything to fall into place but also knew the brain is a complex organ that sometimes just can not heal itself. I can’t give the story away so this is a must read!! I would really like a second book,as I would love to know what the next year or Two brings for these wonderful characters! Highly recommended!!”

"Oh Mrs. Leta Blake you are fast becoming one of my favorites!" Review of The River Leith #gayromance

March 6, 2016 by Leta

“Oh Mrs. Leta Blake you are fast becoming one of my favorites! This is one of those stories that kinda leaves you breathless. I mean think about your partner…now imagine he/she doesn’t remember anything about you or your relationship together. Is the love you share strong enough pull them to you regardless??? Well this is that story. Leith has lost the last three years and Zach has lost his lover and best friend. The story takes you through some of the frustrations they have while traveling the path back to each other. I’m not sure I could be as strong and Zach or Leith for that matter.Again I wish I had he gift of words to truly describe this story to you. The only thing I wish Mrs. Blake would have included in the story is the same thing Leith wanted which is how they met…ugh! I want to know that story too!”

“This is my first Leta Blake book but will not be my last!! I loved everything about Christopher and Jesse. I immediately felt their connection and attraction. I also knew it wasn’t going to be a smooth ride. I am a self-proclaimed angst lover (both reading and writing it) and this had just the perfect amount of constant turmoil that made me read into the middle of the night hoping this couple would find their happily ever after.”

“I feel like a better title for this book would be ‘Perfect Season’ .” Review of Training Season by Leta Blake

December 20, 2015 by Leta

“I feel like a better title for this book would be “Perfect Season” because that is what it was all about to me. It’s what we want: perfection. It’s what we want to see in others: perfection. It’s where we want our lives to be – the place we want to live. It’s just not always the most realistic viewpoint to carry.

I’ll spare you the blurb, which actually describes this gem perfectly.

From the characters to the prose to the level of angst and love this one delivers a Gold Medal winning performance. I loved both characters – though sometimes I didn’t like them very much. It felt absolutely real. We all strive for the “Perfect Season” in our lives and so very rarely do we get it – until we look back on what we’ve done, seen, loved, and worked towards and realized that it really was all for a reason. Sometimes we get kicked down so hard that we think we’re so far underground we won’t see the light of day, well, ever – and yet we keep going. The drive, the motivation, to do something like Matty is doing seems foreign to many – but people who have it, who give like that, who commit like that, it’s overwhelming, painful, endorphin producing, rewarding, and downright costly. All at the same time.

What great fortune to also find a book that contains BDSM but is not about it. No fancy schmancy clubs here with paraded twinks naked with collars. No discussion or negotiation, no BDSM101 lecture, nada. No “Boy” this and “Sir” that protocol. Just honest need, want, and desire that gets expressed with a more D/s theme running through. I will definitely say that this one has two kinks that are neither common nor comfortable for a great amount of people: breath play and medical (enema). Yet I would challenge anyone to read this and not to understand what was going on, how these fit in to the story, and come away with the thought that it was those things that identified the book. Because they just so don’t. The scenes’s are memorable for how they express the characters relationship and growth and understanding. They are expressions – of something far greater and far more importance. Divine.

A top 5 pick of the year for me. I very rarely stay up until 4am to finish a book. I did here and didn’t regret it one bit and didn’t even wake up tired. I woke up with this feeling that I’d just left my Grandma’s house on Christmas day after all the food, festivities, and love and I so want to go back to that place again. For that moment, in that time, at that place – it was, for me, The Perfect Season.”

Sometimes holding on means letting go After giving up on his career as a country singer in Nashville, Christopher Ryder is happy enough performing at the Smoky Mountain Dreams theme park in Tennessee. But while his beloved Gran loves him the way he is, Christopher feels painfully invisible to everyone else. Even when he's center stage he aches for someone to see the real him. Bisexual Jesse Birch has no room in his life for dating. Raising two kids and fighting with family after a tragic accident took his children's mother, he doesn't want more than an occasional hook-up. He sure as hell doesn't want to fall hard for his favorite local singer, but when Christopher walks into his jewelry studio, Jesse hears a new song in his heart.

“An awesome addition to this series!” Review: Will & Patrick Meet the Family by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 13, 2015 by Leta

wake-up-married-banner-2

“This book was such a awesome addition to this series! This is not a stand alone so you need to read the first book in the series before you read this one.
So in this book Patrick gets to meet Will’s family and let me say Will’s mom gives a new meaning to mother-in-law from hell. Patrick is his usually snarky self with everyone which I loved! There is just something about his character that draws me in and has me laughing so hard at the things he says. Then there was poor Will I just want him to honestly get over Ryan and realize what a jerk he is.
The sexual tension between these two was off the charts in this book. So many times I just wanted to yell through the book and tell them to just get it on already because you know they are going to be so hot together when they do. I really do not want to say much more because this book you have really got to read for yourself because it was just so good! I will say these two authors have drawn me into this story of Patrick and Will so much that I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this series to see more of these two characters together and what will happen next.

All together I really loved this book! I would definitely recommend this book!

“5 stars

I was given this book by Inked Rainbow Reads for an honest review.

Book 2 in the Vegas Marriage of Will and Patrick. This book was just as good as book 1. Patrick gets to meet Will’s family. And of course Patrick can’t hold his tongue. Oh my I just love his snarky attitude. And the things he does voice are hilarious.

Once again I enjoyed this book very much. Definitely need to read these books in order. Looking forward to reading more about Will and Patrick.”

“I was grinning like an idiot when I finished — the outcome felt so very earned.” Review of Training Complex by Leta Blake

November 5, 2015 by Leta

“I think I liked this sequel more than Training Season, and that is saying something considering how much I loved that book! This sequel is just…man. Everything I could have wanted and more. It’s sexy and sweet and angsty. Matty and Rob make mistakes. (No cheating, don’t worry!) They love each other, but they aren’t perfect, and I really enjoy that this book explores challenges many couples face with communication and money woes. But it’s done with unique flair, and in the end their love sees them through with flying colours. (This is a romance novel, after all — HEAs are the name of the game.) It wasn’t always easy to see Rob and Matty hurting, but it was so worth it. I was grinning like an idiot when I finished — the outcome felt so very earned. I’m admittedly biased since I edited this book, but I really did love it to bits.”

via Goodreads | Keira Andrews (Toronto, ON, Canada)’s review of Training Complex.

"I don't think any fans of Training Season will be disappointed in [Matty & Rob's] continued journey. SO HOT!" - Diverse Reader Reviews "This sequel gave me a book hangover of the best kind!" - Rainbow Gold Reviews

Buckle up – Matty’s back!

Figure skater Matty Marcus didn’t capture Olympic gold, but he won rancher Rob Lovely’s heart.

After Rob sold his ranch and Matty hung up his skates, they started a new life together in New York City. Now Matty has taken on a fresh challenge as a figure skating coach, and Rob’s second career as a physical therapist should be everything he’s dreamed of. But in the brutal heat of their third summer in the city, Rob yearns for the wide-open country, and the intensity of city life awakens Matty’s demons.

Matty asks for increasingly intense BDSM scenes, and his disordered eating and erratic behavior ramp up the stakes. Rob struggles to stay in control, and after a well-intentioned anniversary gift goes awry, he still thinks he can handle the fallout. But the concrete jungle is closing in and his coping skills are unraveling.

Their love is deep, but Rob will have to admit the truth about what he really wants before they both tumble into chaos.

“Fast paced and very entertaining, the first Episode of Will & Patrick has left me wanting more.” Review: Will & Patrick Wake Up Married by Leta Blake & Alice Griffiths

November 3, 2015 by Leta

wake-up-married-banner-1

“I thought this was a really good start to the serial. Both men are clearly attracted to each other and have the same ultimate goal, but they have such polar opposite outlooks on life and how to go about things, that I can’t wait to see them navigate what’s coming. If they don’t physically kill each other first the underlying sexual tension just might do the trick! We don’t get to see them in bed, but the few memories we’re treated to and hints of some shared kinks are enough of a promise to keep me going.

Fast paced and very entertaining, the first Episode of Will & Patrick has left me wanting more. Next up, Will has to take Patrick to face the wrath of his mother.

October 30, 2015 by Leta

“OMG this book was so good!
Okay Patrick and Will meet each other one night while both of them are drunk in Vegas. Well one thing leads to another and they wake up in the morning married and sore due to the massive amounts of sex they had. Can I just say I loved Patrick’s character so much. He was just so snarky, so many times the things he would say in this book had me laughing to the point I had tears in my eyes.
So due to reasons that are beyond Will’s control they have to stay married until they can figure a way out of their marriage. So many things happen in this book that I was either laughing or feeling sad for Will because of what Ryan does to him. I loved the way the authors wrote these characters and the whole pretense of this story. So I don’t want to give away any spoilers because this book you have got to read for yourself, it was just so good! I can not wait to read the next one to see what these two characters Patrick and Will are up to next.
So all together I loved this book!
I would definitely recommend this book!

After a drunken night of hot sex in Vegas, strangers Will Patterson and Dr. Patrick McCloud wake up married. A quickie divorce is the most obvious way out—unless you’re the heir of a staunchly Catholic mafia boss with a draconian position on the sanctity of marriage.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Will and Patrick don’t like it, or each other, but they have to make the best of it until they can find another way out of their marriage. To ensure the trust fund Will’s charitable foundation relies on isn’t revoked by his mobster grandfather, he and Patrick travel to Will’s hometown of Healing, South Dakota, posing as a newlywed couple in the throes of true love at first sight.

Complicating their scheme are Will’s unresolved feelings for his all-too-recent ex-boyfriend Ryan, and Patrick’s desire to get back to the only thing that really matters to him in life: neurosurgery. Will they fool everyone? Or will the mafia get wind that their marriage is a fake? Throw their simmering attraction into the mix and all bets are off!

“This was, at its heart, an amazing and raw love story.” Review: Vespertine by Leta Blake & Indra Vaughn #gayromance

September 16, 2015 by Leta

“This was, at its heart, an amazing and raw love story. As is only fitting given the characters, there is a slow build to the sex, but when it hits the page, it was remarkable. This book kept me up into the night and it lingers in my mind days after it was done. I feel like Nicky and Jasper are there on their island, and I can’t help but wait to see the amazing journey their love is taking.

There is an excellent collection of secondary characters, and the plot is engaging and well paced.

Don’t miss this excellent read.”
